Put public health over politics. Suspend the roll out of LAMC 41.18
Jump to: Take Action | Tweets | Graphics | Call Scripts | Council Files
Background
Services Not Sweeps demands the Mayor and City Council put public health before politics and suspend the rollout of LAMC 41.18 during the current COVID surge. Omicron is rampant in Los Angeles. Infection rates among unhoused people are skyrocketing. More than 130 homeless shelters have outbreaks and are on lock-down, and the number is going up every single day. Forcing people to leave their encampments and disperse into the community goes against all available public health guidance, increases transmission rates, and disconnects people from critical medical care, outreach, and support.
We need to protect people in our community, not put them in harm's way. Putting Public Health over Politics is the only way to end this Pandemic. Suspend the Roll Out of LAMC 41.18. Read our full letter

Public Comment Talking Points
Wednesday, January 12 at 10am City Council Meeting |
Ask to give General Public Comment and Items 15 through 20
-
Omicron is more transmissible than almost any virus in history. Displacing unhoused people right now is helping spread the virus, among people who are far less likely to be fully protected by the vaccine.
-
We have to put public health before politics to end this pandemic. That includes protecting our most vulnerable neighbors. Stop Enforcing LAMC 41.18.
-
Continuing to roll out LAMC 41.18 puts politics above public health, and we will never end the pandemic this way.
-
Stop putting politics before public health. Suspend the roll out of LAMC 41.18.
